above This televison cabinet was comissioned by a couple who wanted to compliment their extensive collection of cat-themed folkart objects from all over the world. They also wanted an impressionistic floral backround painted behind the cat motif. It was very enjoyable to work with these themes to create such a fun and imaginative piece.

This comission called for a radical new look to this useful piece. I gold leafed the panels on the doors, and then painted a japaneese style tree stretching over the top two gold leaf panels. The effect is striking, and the reflectiveness of the gold leaf brings a lot of light into the room. The sides are decorated with circular emblems containing japanese emblematic designs.
